Y’all there is so much going on right now that I could literally write a book! But, I will spare you and start with a recap of one of the most amazing trips I have been on. In May I celebrated my bachelorette party in Moab, Utah by meeting up with 5 of my bridesmaids. We had girls traveling literally every corner of the U.S. (Maine, Virginia, Alabama, Texas, California and Oregon). Sadly two of my girls (one in Maine and the other in North Carolina) couldn’t make it but they were there in spirit!
From the moment I arrived in Utah I was completely spoiled by these girls. My Matron and Maid of Honor flew in early to get supplies and food and champagne (most important!) and greeted me at the airport wearing Bride Tribe hats and a veil for me. I will just say, we were a sight!
After everyone made it to SLC, we drove 4 hours (in a h-o-t-t) minivan to Moab. To say the drive was scenic is a complete understatement. There are practically no words to truly give this place justice so I will let the photos speak for themselves.
The first night in Moab we stayed at a place call Under Canvas and true to it’s name, we slept in glorified canvas tents complete with a wood burning stove, queen sized bed and bathroom! Two of the girls slept in cots in the neighboring teepee. I will admit, there are some perks to being the bride 🙂 #glamping After we settled into our tents, we had dinner on site overlooking this gorgeous valley. The food was to-die-for and an awesome way to kick off the weekend! The staff there was truly amazing and even decorated our tents with bachelorette accessories that the girls had mailed up ahead of time. And just to make things a little exciting, that night we experienced a crazy wind storm with 55mph+ winds whipping our tents all night long. It was so loud and literally was shaking the floor underneath us! It was definitely something to laugh about the next day, when it was all over!
Friday morning we got up early, had breakfast delivered from a local cafe. After mimosas we said goodbye to the gamping life (one night of that was enough for some of us, ha!) and headed to town. Four of us then went kayaking on the Colorado River. It was super fun and so scenic but still very windy and we paddled EIGHT miles against the wind in 4 hours. The massage I got at the resort later ended up being well-earned!
After kayaking, we drove about 30 minutes outside of town to a resort called Sorell River Ranch and Spa which was truly out of this world! Not only were the accommodations wonderful, the view from your front porch were breathtaking!
That night we went on a riverboat cruise and saw some amazing rock formations and cool petroglyphs. The next day we got up and hiked around the Arches National Park. All I can say is, WOW! The girls organized coordinating outfits and we got some super cute pics… and yes, they made me hike in a veil! Ha!
This was such an incredible trip! Everyone loved it and we were all talking about how we wanted to go back with our significant others or families to share with them this amazing place! There is so much more to see and do. I would totally recommend going for a week if you can and plenty to do with little kids too! Like, I am totally going back with Drake to the dinosaur park where they found real dino bones!
Anne, Melissa, Christina, Falon and Erica… thank you from the bottom of my heart for planning, organizing one of the most memorable trips I have ever been on! It was so fun traveling with you girls and experiencing this together. So much thought, effort and details went into making me feel special and loved and I just cannot express how truly lucky I am to have girlfriends like y’all!
